Project description

Energy audits as an important instrument for increasing energy efficiency have become established on the European market in recent years due to the legal requirements (Energy Efficiency Directive). As a result, numerous efficiency measures have been and are being implemented in companies.

However, the situation is different for SMEs (< 250 employees). The EE4SMEs - EnergyEfficiency for SMEs project aims to remedy this situation. This EU-LIFE project involves 23 partners - mainly chambers of commerce from 10 European countries. By demonstrating best practices for reducing energy consumption, carrying out energy checks, supporting the development of operational know-how and further training as well as the use of benchmarks, SMEs are to be given an impetus to move from idea to implementation.

For Austria, the focus was set on the accommodation sector.
