Project description

The TGW Evolution Park in Marchtrenk is currently expanding by the building project "Marchtrenk II" with several new buildings used as offices, meeting area, learning center, production halls and a parking deck. An innovative energy concept and high energy efficiency play an important role in the scope of planning.

Tasks of e7 within quality assurance of building services engineering

  • Goal-definition workshop with following topics: sustainability, energy efficiency, indoor comfort criteria, building certification, requirements on energy supply, energy monitoring and mobility
  • Continuous support during preliminary design phase and conceptual design phase with focus on energy supply and energy distribution (heating, cooling, ventilation, hot water and lighting)
  • Operation condition analyses: For the optimal design of the chosen HVAC Technologies not only two operation conditions (winter/summer) were applied, but 23 operation condition divided in summer operation, transition operation and winter operation were analyzed

Goals of the operation condition analyses

  • Avoidance of over-dimensioned plants
  • Identification of potential plant part-load behavior in an early planning phase
  • Identification of inefficient operation modes
  • Identification of unnecessary plant components for heating and cooling supply
  • Basis for the development of efficient control strategies

Following operation condition were analyzed by e7

  • Free-cooling operation by geothermal probes
  • Energy balance of geothermal probes for heating and cooling
  • Technical integration of temperature-layered distributor for heating and cooling
