Austrian EEEFC Hub: More private funding for energy efficiency in SMEs
e7 supports the Austrian EEEFC hub for financing energy efficiency in SMEs and is working on solutions to mobilise private capital.
Austrian EEEFC Hub: More private funding for energy efficiency in SMEs
How can more private investment in energy efficiency be mobilised and existing financing barriers for small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) be removed? This is the question being addressed by the new Austrian hub of the European Energy Efficiency Financing Coalition (EEEFC). As a national expert, e7 is supporting the focus on energy efficiency financing in the SME sector, providing substantive guidance and chairing the working group.
Financing energy efficiency as a key challenge
Energy efficiency measures offer businesses significant potential to reduce energy consumption and costs in the long term. At the same time, SMEs in particular often face financial and structural challenges when implementing such investments. These include, amongst other things, a lack of information on suitable financing models, questions regarding the cost-effectiveness of measures, and the assessment of investment risks.
This is where the Austrian EEEFC Hub comes in: representatives from the financial sector, business, academia and civil society are working together to identify existing barriers and develop concrete approaches to improve the financing of energy efficiency.
e7 supports the SME initiative
Within the EEEFC, e7 acts as the National Expert for energy efficiency financing in the SME sector. Together with the participating stakeholders, we facilitate and moderate discussions within the working group, organise the insights gained and analyse the results.
The focus here is on the question of which framework conditions and funding approaches can help to make energy efficiency investments more accessible and economically attractive for Austrian SMEs.
The Austrian hub is thus creating a platform to bring together different perspectives and develop concrete solutions for mobilising private capital for energy efficiency.
We look forward to working together and exchanging ideas with the stakeholders involved over the coming months.
